The Singh Farm Worker Housing is located on a 49-acre parcel in Bonsall, an unincorporated community in the County of San Diego. Intensive community outreach was required during the process to address the placement of farm worker housing within the mixed agriculture/residential community. A Use Permit was approved for the construction of buildings that include two-story dormitory style structures containing 41 sleeping rooms, a kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, laundry rooms and a game room. These facilities have a maximum capacity of 352 men. TLPG has recently obtained an approval for the Singh Farms to modify the approved Use Permit to expand the Farm Worker Housing to include modular home trailers for additional sleeping units.
The Singh Farm Worker Housing has received numerous awards for excellence and has earned a distinguished reputation as a “model farm labor housing” complex. Awards include the recognition from the American Planning Association at the local, state, and federal levels, including the prestigious national Paul Davidoff Award for Planning Advocacy in Support of Society’s Less Fortunate Members.
