COLLINS PROPERTY / LOMA ALTA CREEK WETLANDS
City of Oceanside
Oceanside

Approximately two acres of re-vegetation of the Southern Willow Scrub was created to offset impacts to Loma Alta Creek due to development intrusion.  This was designed by The Lightfoot Planning Group to match the mitigation of the upper basins previously completed.  The requirement of the project was to create a viable native riparian habitat in a natural drainage basin. This basin was enlarged to provide a holding area for floodwaters from large storm events, and could also be used by the least Bell’s vireo, a Federally-listed endangered species.
